The Louisiana Creole flag was designed by Pete Bergeron in 1987 and adopted by C.R.E.O.L.E., Inc. It represents the cultural melting pot of Louisiana Creole culture and identity, combining symbols of Louisiana’s French heritage and influences from West African cultures. The upper left section features a white fleur de lys on a blue field to represent Louisiana’s French heritage
